This project celebrates the natural transition between day and night, using light and shadow to create a dynamic play of contrasts. Solid spaces, defined by their functions, are complemented by the voids of interior courtyards, which act as visual and sensory breathing spaces.
The dialogue between solids and voids, together with the richness of materials, allows each person to experience the space in a unique way, transforming the refuge into a deeply personal environment that adapts to different perceptions and ways of inhabiting.
Charred wood, with its dark tones and textured surface, introduces a sense of tradition and resilience, evoking ancient techniques that protect and enhance the material over time. Concrete, in contrast, brings a sense of modernity and strength, forming a solid and enduring base for the architecture
Together, these materials create a visual and tactile synergy that highlights the architectural details, allowing each element of the design to feel intentional and meaningful. This approach not only honors traditional building practices but also expresses a contemporary and timeless aesthetic.
Refugio del Ocaso reflects Bon Studio’s approach to sensitive architecture, where materiality, light, and landscape come together to create spaces that invite pause, contemplation, and a deeper connection with nature.
