Founded in New York in 2023 by Qicheng Wu and Meichen Wang, Studio Deng is an interdisciplinary design practice that imagines the boundaries of everyday life. The studio takes its name from the Chinese word "deng," meaning to wait, like light filtering through leaves or water sculpting stone. "We believe in the power of patient observation to reveal the beauty of the everyday." When repeated as "deng deng," the expression opens onto a sense of continuity and infinity, a perfect metaphor for their approach to design. They work across scales and disciplines, allowing each project to unfold at its own pace and find its natural form.
