Founded in Shanghai in 2013, Gen Architecture Studio focuses on the realities of design and construction practices, both in urban and natural environments. They aim to find calm and honest answers to complex and uncertain realities by carefully considering site elements and functional requirements.

Led by principal architects Fan Beilei, Kong Rui, and Xue Zhe, Gen Architecture Studio undertakes comprehensive design work, covering a wide range of projects from schools and art galleries to bridges, sports fields, furniture, and urban design. Representative works include: Shanghai Zhonghua College (2025), Anaya Friendship Bay Community and Friendship House Club Hotel and Juanzhuan Apartment (2023), Dingshu Adult Education School (2021), and Yitingting (2019). Gen Architecture Studio's work has received numerous awards, including the WA China Architecture Award, the Natural Construction Award Jury Special Award, the Sanlian Humanistic City Award, the AIA Shanghai Annual Outstanding Design Award, the German Iconic Awards for Innovative Architecture, and the Italian THE PLAN Award for Architecture.
