The design of this project adopts "redefining the relationship between architecture and nature" as its core concept, creating a farmstead hotel that coexists harmoniously with nature between Cangshan Mountain and the pastoral fields.

The design employs undulating “earthen stone walls” as its spatial framework, constructed from local granite to create boundaries that evoke a sense of ruins while seamlessly extending into the surrounding landscape. These stone walls, combined with interspersed hip roofs and setback flat roofs, shape fluid indoor and outdoor spaces. All native trees on the site are fully preserved, allowing the architecture to yield deliberately to vegetation. The expansive pastoral views and the “level-distance” and “lofty-distance” vistas of Cangshan Mountain are transformed into a core sequence of landscape experiences—realizing the concept of “scenery entering the architecture, and architecture receding into the scenery.”

The layout fully responds to the site's character: the tea pavilion floats above the water surface, with opened corners that incorporate the entire inner courtyard into the tea-tasting experience; the garden living room serves as a "flower hall" transitional space, connecting the tranquil inner courtyard with the open farmland; the sunken lounge bar lowers the viewpoint, allowing Cangshan Mountain to emerge completely beneath the low eaves, creating a physical sensation where openness and enclosure coexist. Each guest room features its own private garden, integrating nature into daily living.

The project innovatively integrates contemporary rural construction resources - local stonemasons and steel structure teams collaborate closely, with non-standard steel components receiving refined finishing. Internet sourcing combines with manual customization to achieve high-quality, bespoke construction within a limited budget.

Through preserving native trees, utilizing local stone, and developing drought-tolerant gardens, low-intervention sustainable construction is realized. It recreates Dali's courtyard-and-plant-centered natural lifestyle, provides urban seekers of healing with profound local experiences, and redefines the "local identity" of contemporary rural architecture.
