23 SUL is an architecture and urbanism studio founded in 2006 and based in São Paulo, Brazil. The practice defines its philosophy as treating space as raw material, approaching each project as a unique response to context and balancing design innovation with practical concerns such as cost, deadlines, predictability, and sustainability.
Their work spans multiple scales: from small residential houses and apartment renovations, to medium‑scale public and private buildings, large‑scale transport and mobility infrastructure, and macro‑scale urban planning and socio‑economic analysis. This breadth allows 23 SUL to engage with both intimate private projects and complex citywide challenges.
Rooted in São Paulo’s dynamic urban environment, the studio has built a reputation for pragmatic, interdisciplinary solutions that combine aesthetic quality with functional performance, making them a significant contributor to contemporary Brazilian architecture and urbanism.
